Rainy Nights.

I still think it's fun that it rains here occasionally. It really doesn't rain that much in Texas- not including the crazy monsoons the hill country experienced early summer this year. Anyway- yesterday was a gloomy day and we had a rainy night too...so I was excited that I had fun plans to meet Kelley for happy hour. I figured we would be there from about 5:30 to 7:00, but we sat there and talked and laughed non-stop until about 9:30.

At one point, we were thinking about leaving and then Kelley said something like "Well I'm going to have to go kill time at Target...cause if I'm paying a babysitter, she is definitely putting those kids to bed!" I laughed because I feel the exact same way. I don't know exactly why- but it's really fun if you have a night off, to have the WHOLE night off. Maybe bedtime is a little stressful and a bit of a challenge for anyone with small kids. Anyway- we had so much fun and I left feeling really thankful. They live right in Edina and I think Bennett and her husband could get along well too.

Today after school there is a play date at a local park for kids that are entering kindergarten at Davis' new school. I'm not exactly looking forward to making small talk with all the moms- BUT- I think Davis will feel so encouraged if he sees a familiar face his first day of school, so we're going!

Then tomorrow morning we meet our first nanny candidate, and then tomorrow night we are having dinner with two gals I work with and their husbands- one is 30 and the other is 55- so I love the age spread. Conversation will be good. And then Sunday we'll go to church and probably the pool and then Sunday night I am having dinner with my teen mom, Martha. I haven't seen her for a while, so I'm really excited about that.

Busy weekend! And then in a week and a half, we'll be in Texas!
