Mothers Day Love.

Bennett really made sure to make the weekend all about me- starting with little D walking in with a little potted orchid for me after school on Friday. "Happy early mother's day" he said! He was quite proud. Then Saturday morning, Bennett made me breakfast before swimming lessons...

These pictures kill me. They are so cute. And Holden's swimsuit. I mean. It's just too much.

Sunday morning we got up early and went to the Y to work out, and then we went to have brunch together. It was so fun.

They're at this great age where it's not a total crap shoot, taking them to a restaurant. For the most part, they are great. In fact, while waiting for our meals, Bennett asked me what I've learned being a mother...and it's not really what I've learned, but I mentioned how I enjoy it more the older they get. Except that I'm enjoying it so much now that I would like to freeze time. I've loved them at all stages- but it's gotten easier over the past year. A bit less hands-on work and more fun. I'm sure a big part of that has been working through D's stuff...but I also just love their personalities at this age- so clever and fun. I'm not really one for babies, honestly. I don't really even love to hold other people's babies. I'll do it, but I'd rather play with them as they get a bit older.

And then Sunday night we had to go to Nordstrom to get some pants hemmed- and so this happened:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that they gave me a facial on Sunday afternoon. I had mentioned wanting one- and I was very happy to go spend 90 minutes having a little facial treatment. Okay so it was for sure the best one I've had...but I still don't know if I would ever say I enjoyed it. It's a means to an end to me. And like half the time I'm thinking "this lady is probably just smearing the same lotion on my face over and over and I'm just a putz who has no idea..." ha. Or other parts of it hurt and I'm like "how is this relaxing?" Anyway- I asked for it and I'm glad I went. My skin feels as smooth as a baby's bottom. :-)

So that was my weekend. Hope you had a good one too.
