Advent Calendars

My grandmother sent Davis the coolest lego advent calendar for his birthday. Today he got to open the first one- I didn't get a picture of him- but oh was he excited when he pulled the tab open and there was a little bag with parts to make a little lego man. He cannot wait to open tomorrow's. And of course I have found a way to turn this into leverage to keep him in his bed at night. :-)

Bennett is in Phoenix while it is like -2 when I got the kids home from school, we decided to put up a few Christmas decorations. We will wait on tress, ornaments, lights, etc until Bennett is home, but I have about 8-10 little Christmas-y things we put out every year- some old (passed down) and some new. It was so fun and they were so excited! We then watched a Christmas OLIVIA movie, ate popcorn and then read a book in bed before going to sleep! It was exactly what I needed to shake my funk today.

We are closing out the year at work with a ton of new business projects- which is usually fun- but also usually very stressful. It's not the best timing- but I'm going to try not to let it weigh me down. I am also supposed to travel next week for work- and at the same time- the kids have their Christmas concert on Wednesday. So, umm, lets just put it this way: I'm not going to miss that concert. So there is a little stress about that too. But what is that saying: "Worrying is basically praying for what you DON'T want..." so I need to cut that shit out. :-)

Anyway, here are a few more fun pictures from the last week or two:

Davis is most definitely questioning Holden's aesthetic in this picture...

My little loves at the Original Pancake House. With Holden's kitty who has lost all stuffing in her poor neck. She is well loved.

Holden was basically the greeter. She talked to everyone going in, and everyone going out. Older people just love her because she is so damn cute and has the biggest grin and will talk to anyone- stranger or no! I love watching the smiles people find because of her!

Have a great day!
